Eureka Moment Minute with Scitech's Malcolm Moore

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

1. What doors opened for you as a result of winning your Eureka Prize?

The Eureka Prize allowed Scitech to focus the media and our colleagues in science on the ‘hidden face' of Scitech, our Outreach Programs which are more self evident in regional WA than Perth.

It did much for the self-esteem of staff and greater recognition of Scitech's broad community engagement through a large suite of programs.

2. Where do you keep your trophy?

The Prize is in a Perspex cabinet in the entrance gallery at Scitech in full view of the public.

3. What do you do when you are not doing science?

Play golf (badly) and attend theatre performances.

4. What is your favourite.... (quote, movie, song, book)

Favourite songs - the Beatles collection!

5. If you had to convince someone about the value of science what would you say in 25 words or less?

Science opens up the mind to a world of enquiry and fascinating revelations.
