Throughout 2009 we blogged about our efforts to create an environmentally sustainable event. We kept you up to date on all the highs, lows and challenges we have faced - and continue to face. You can read all about it by following the links below.
In 2010, we have partnered with the Carbon Reduction Institute to deliver the Eureka Prizes as a carbon neutral event. To achieve NoCO2 carbon neutral certification, a carbon audit is conducted which covers all of the emissions sources related to running the event including fuels and electricity used, services and materials consumed, transport and waste. The total impact is offset through the purchase of verified carbon credits. Carbon reduction measures are integrated in the planning and implementation of the event where possible.
